About Coard Benson
Born and raised in Easton, I have a sound understanding of life on the Shore. Having been exposed to real estate from an early age, with my father as broker since 1962, I developed a reverence for those endearing traits of real property. I graduated Country Day School in 1986 and went on to St. James Episcopal School in Hagerstown, Md. Through my high school experience, I participated in school life through groups such as the Vestry, as an Usher for the school's congregation, prefect council and disciplinary committee. In 1990, I enrolled in Hampden-Sydney College in Farmville, Va., from which I graduated with a B.A. in economics. After a two-year sabbatical in Jackson, Wyo., I returned to Easton and worked for two years in marketing. I was licensed as a Realtor in 1998 and have worked closely with my father since then with an emphasis on client service.
I have two boys, 6 and 8 years old, and my wife is a nurse at the hospital. Life in Talbot County is a pleasure, and raising a family here makes my job that much more rewarding when I can share all that our area has to offer.
I am active with local charities and my industry association. I was a committee member for the Talbot County chapter of Ducks Unlimited, a member of Easton's Rotary Club and a board member of Pickering Creek Audubon Center. I currently hold a board position with the Maryland Association of Realtors and recently held the position of President for area association. Participation within the community and networking are a key to my influence within the real estate market and an asset to those interested in knowing more about the Shore.
